Should I be the first to actually file for divorce?

The person who wants the divorce, is the one who should file. My husband I'm waiting for him to file (he has to pay his lawyer for his probation stuff) but yeah my dad said the person who wants to leave, leaves the one that wants the divorce files. Best of luck
