Is this going to work for my hair?

5 months ago, i bleached my hair and dyed it pink, since then i've dyed it brown again (my natural color) Prom is coming up and i want to do something funky. So i fell in love with pastel hair colors and i wanted to try it. I was thinking if I used color zap, then bleach (40 vol), then a toner with 20 vol, my hair would turn out light enough to dye a pastel color over it. NOW. here's my other question. I bought manic panic purple hair dye, if i mix it with conditioner to lighten the color, will my hair take it? I've tested a strip and i'm no so sure its going to work..Please answer with any helpful advice!
